Rick Grimes is a former deputy chief of police in a coma for several months after being shot while on duty has been. When he wakes up, he finds that the world has been taken over by zombies, and the only person he seems to be alive. Home to his wife and children he heads back to Atlanta to find a missing family found. Narrowly escaping death at the hands of zombies on arrival in Atlanta, he is supported by other victims, Glenn took Rick to camp outside the city. There Rick find his wife Lori and son Carl.
