Set in Baltimore, this show focuses on the city's downtown drug market. It starts as mid-level drug dealer, Dangelo Barksdale beats the murder rap. After a conversation with a judge, Det. James McNulty has been assigned to manage the joint homicide and narcotics team, in order to reduce drug kingpin Avon Barksdale.
